DESIGN PROCESS
I work with clients at different stages of their journey, from innovative startups looking to make an impact to established brands seeking a revitalisation. My design process is highly collaborative. With meticulous attention to detail, I focus on clarity and consistency, crafting memorable brands that not only capture attention but form part of a practical and adaptable design language that works seamlessly across all mediums.
Our initial meeting is a chance for us to connect and for you to share your business goals and brand aspirations. After our discussion, I’ll provide a proposal detailing the project process, deliverables, pricing and terms. I typically request a 50% deposit, with the balance due upon completion of project milestones.
In this phase, I conduct research and analysis of your brand, audience and competitors to gather insights that inform the design direction. This ensures alignment on project scope and expectations before we move forward. For clients needing deeper market analysis, I may partner with Brand Strategists.
During the Brand Concept Stage, I transform insights from the Discovery Phase into concrete design ideas. I typically create two to three moodboards that visually represent the brand’s personality, showcasing colours, typography and overall style in real-world contexts like web pages, presentation designs and other brand collateral. From the Concept Presentation, you select the most promising direction for detailed design development.
Once the design concept is approved, I refine, create and deliver essential brand identity assets, including logo files, colour specifications, typefaces and graphic visuals. This phase may also involve commissioning photography, illustrations, motion graphics, and copywriting as needed.
In the final phase, I can develop a comprehensive Brand Guidelines Document, available online or in print, to ensure consistent brand usage by marketing teams and suppliers. This document covers logo usage, colour palettes, typography and imagery. I can also create various brand collateral, such as websites, pitch decks and social media assets, ensuring a cohesive brand presence that supports your business goals across all platforms.
